As mariners on occasion have to leave their vessels for long periods of time, there are many things that could happen to endanger your vessel. We supply systems and services for:
Our systems sounds audible alarms to scare intruders away, send a silent alarm signal (text email and phone call from a live operator) to the owner of the boat and even alert the police to an alarm event.
Smoke and Fire detection
Outboard motor protection
Vessel location systems (GPS)
At Site Security Services, we also have a “personal interest” in Marine Security — text by Terry McDonald
Having been a boat owner ‘on and off’ for most of my life, I really do understand your worries in this day and age and especially the unique requirements in this beautiful island of Jersey in particular.
Three things most owners want to know and really need to know are:-
Is she safe? (i.e. no intruders on board.)
Is she on fire?
and of course…
Is she sinking?
At Site Security Services, we have equipment which will tell you the answer to all of these questions twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Indeed, intruder, fire and flood alarms can be installed on most vessels and powered by a good 12 volt battery which can be kept charged ‘topped up’ by solar panels and/or a wind turbine.
Lately, outboard motor thefts appear to be top of the list in Jersey, closely followed by theft of fuel (complete with tanks in many cases). We can help to dramatically reduce such things by installing suitable and adequate systems. Whether it be CCTV, GPS tracker units, vibration alarms, etc. and all can be wirelessly attached to an auto-
How is that for peace of mind?
Yes, I do know that a boat is generally a thing that makes a hole in the water into which you throw money (and enjoy doing so in most cases) but I won’t contribute to the loss of your hard earned money in a recession or at any other time in fact. We really will understand your specific needs and concerns if anyone can and are happy to make a visit and our advice is free. If there is a real and genuine need to install equipment of any sort, I’m sorry but won’t be for free, but I suspect that you will be pleasantly surprised by our prices.
As the old saying goes, “Prevention is better than cure.” It is far better to be prepared for things such as theft, fire and flood, than having to come to us after the event.
Speaking as a boat owner, I hope that you will never need our services, but if you do we are only a phone call away (01534 721343).
